Europa Fund III confirms the sale of a 0.51 hectare development site adjacent to the headquarters of the European Commission in the centre of Brussels. The development site, known as Realex, sits on the Rue de la Loi, a major thoroughfare within the European District of Brussels. The property, to comprise a 29 storey office tower, has received planning consent for the development of 42,000 sq. metres of offices. Atenor and Kingslex, in a new joint venture (90/10), have acquired the interest in a group of companies holding the property.
James Fortescue, Partner at Europa Capital, stated: “During our tenure we have been successful in obtaining planning consent for an additional 17,000 sq. metres. We are delighted that Atenor, who own the adjacent site to Realex, have now agreed to acquire our interest in this exciting development project, which we had intended for the future occupation by the European Union.”
